Our Mission

The Montenegro Institute for Rights & Advocacy (MIRA) is dedicated to eliminating torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment throughout Montenegro and the Western Balkans region. We work tirelessly to prevent torture, support survivors, and hold perpetrators accountable.

Since our founding in 2025, we have been at the forefront of efforts to monitor detention facilities, document torture cases, provide legal support to victims, and advocate for systemic changes to prevent abuse of power.
